Ross Simpson Moves Up to Third.

JDF Racing's Ross Simpson moves up to third in series after Snetterton15 year old Chessington rider Ross Simpson moved back into third place of the Thundersport Aprilia RRV450GP Championship over the Bank Holiday weekend.

Held on the fast Snetterton 200 layout, Simpson consolidated third pace after slipping back to fifth place in the series after the second round at Donington Park.

After qualifying fifth in wet conditions, Race one saw Simpson scrapping with Freckleton rider Dan Booth for fourth place the result going to Booth with Simpson fifth. Race two later on in the day was a bit of an epic for Ross. After a clear jump start a ten second penalty was given to Simpson straight away pushing him back to thirteenth place on time, he was however running in seventh place on lap one. By some spirited riding he clawed his way back up the field in time and position actually finishing third on the road but adjusted to fourth as a result of the time penalty.

Ross Simpson "I was fairly certain I had a jump start penalty, it was pretty clear to everyone! The problems was, I stopped the bike and everyone just took off so I had to ride hard to get back amongst the lead pack which I did. The bonus was on the mega laps system I went for fifth place on the grid which is second row to front row as a result of having second fastest lap after Sam Wilford just three tenths slower so pleased with that!"

The Monday races saw a scrap again between the two fifteen year olds of Simpson and Booth with Dan Booth again crossing the line in sixth place just ahead of Simpson in seventh. Race winner Sam Wilford won by over nine seconds from on form Irish rider Aaron Clifford with improving rider Will Caines in third place backing up a top four finish the day before. On The final race of the day Simpson got the podium slot in third place behind fellow Londoner Will Caines in second place.

The fourth round of the series goes to the tough Cadwell Park track which will sort out the fit from not so fit riders.
