JDF Racing's Ben Luxton Triumphs at Mallory.
JDF rider Ben Luxton got his hands on the RRV 450 title and number one plate at the final round at Mallory Park over the weekend 18th - 19th October 2014.
The Stockport rider has been recognised as the most consistent and smartest rider in the series, an attribute that made the difference required to win this ever more competitive title. Whilst other domestic and World Championship series have been a closely fought competition the close racing shown by these young riders is probably the best seen for many years.
At almost every round the race winner has dragged across the line to win by the tightest of margins. Series promoter Ian Newton "Every year you don’t think it can get any closer, but it does! This year in particular has seen some of the closest and best races I have ever seen anywhere. On bikes that have changed little since our first batch in 2010, the lap records have tumbled this year, very impressive!"
Coined by Steve Day, the "Smiling Assassin" Ben Luxton now moves on to 600cc race machines. Ben Luxton "I was thinking of moving on to 600 race bikes for the start of 2014 but after a discussion with Granddad and John Davies we decided to have a crack at the title. I must say it was absolutely the right choice as my riding and approach to racing has improved. My name is on the RRV 450 trophy. Too many riders move up without winning anything. When potential sponsors ask the question "What have you won?" they have to say "Nothing!" I can bring this title to the table a fantastic season for me!"
